Medical centre trust represented on IMG

Progress toward the integration of the Bay's health services is continuing via meetings, information gathering and work by various parties involved, as was heard at the monthly meeting of the integrated health services interim management group (IMG) on 13 October.
Chairman John Peters welcomed John Crocker, who represents the Golden Bay Medical Centre Trust on the IMG, adding to the representation of stakeholders who will meet to consider progress on the integrated services project.
Earlier that day members of the IMG and the project's establishment manager Kingsley Fletcher met with members of the Medical Centre Trust, where trust chair Harry Holmwood presented a report, "Health Services in Golden Bay and Proposals for an Integrated Health Centre in Golden Bay", covering the trust's recent survey. Mr Peters noted "the report would provide useful reference information for the project".
Recent meetings have been held with the Joan Whiting Memorial Trust and the integrated health steering group. Meeting attendees appreciated catching up on progress with the project.
Golden Bay nurses have attended a workshop for development of proposed models of primary health care for the Bay. Maternity services have been included as a model, alongside models for care of the aged and management of chronic and acute conditions.
Following an invitation to register interest on the availability of land in Golden Bay for a health services facility, several responses have been received and are currently in the hands of TDC, for technical assessment, and the IMG property evaluation committee.
