Sit and Be Fit: Exercise, singing and enjoyment
Participants enjoy a recent session.
Sit and Be Fit sessions are running on Thursdays at 10.30am at the Community Centre, and sitting down has never been more energetic, says Glenis Bell, Way2Go regional advisor, who sat in at the launch.
"We worked every muscle, we moved every joint, we sang every song remembering the good old days and had a really enjoyable time. I walked away from the session feeling so good I wanted to stay and do more."
Physiotherapist Erica van Sint Annaland and Jacinda Pomeroy lead the sessions, which can prevent many problems that come with ageing, help to strengthen muscles and improve mobility and wellbeing.
"Any exercise is better than none at all," said Glenis. "It doesn't have to be hard to be good. And as the saying goes ‘Exercise; you don't have to take it seriously...just regularly'."
Cost is a gold coin donation. For more information contact Erica on 525 9708.
