Onekaka Playgroup welcomes new children
Since its early beginnings in 1977, the Onekaka Playgroup has been frequented by generations of happy children. At the historic Onekaka hall and its spacious surrounds, young children enjoy the freedom to roam and explore new play areas, climbing frames, balancing platforms, waterplay, or the fully functioning tool bench.
Gen Le Comte, a spokesperson for the Onekaka Playgroup, says the group warmly welcomes new families.
"The playgroup has a really cool relaxed atmosphere and it's really casual. It provides great support and I have met lots of new people through the group. There is no pressure to be there at a certain time or every week if that doesn't suit, and it's a free service to all parents with preschoolers in the Golden Bay region," Gen said. "The hall is the perfect location for the playgroup, with the kitchen facilities and real plunger coffee, the open fire in the winter, and especially the open space that allows you to always have the children in your sight."
The playgroup can accommodate up to 20 children. It runs on Wednesday at the Onekaka hall from 10am -12.30pm during term time. Enquiries can be made to Gen on 525 6185.
