Wednesday is Maggie Duff's favourite day. That is the day when she goes to Kotinga to ride Chiquita as part of the Riding for Development programme.
Last week Maggie (12) was at the Riding for Development Christmas break-up where she received a medal for her achievements.
"I've learned how to stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down when Chiquita trots," said Maggie. "You've got to get it right."
"I've seen great changes in Maggie since she started coming to riding," said Maggie's mother, Sharon. "She was quite nervous for a start but now she can trot on Chiquita. She loves it."
Students, parents, helpers and supporters were visited by Father Christmas after a brief weather-curtailed riding session last week.
Riding for Development spokesperson Carole Chapman said that the programme depended very heavily on the work of volunteers and the co-operation of the parents and schools.
