First Class Tax offers whole business support to clients

Since early November, John Baker has been running First Class Tax from premises he shares with David Reid Homes on Commercial Street in Takaka. He says his business offers "the whole package of business support at a lower cost."
John is a qualified accounting technician and is linked with a company called First Class Accounts in Nelson through whom he has access to chartered accountants with specialities in a number of areas.
John has worked in the hospitality industry and for accounting firms in Nelson. His family is currently based in Hanmer Springs and he plans to relocate permanently to Golden Bay as soon as possible. He says that he is looking forward to getting to know clients and their families through regular contact as part of the service he offers.
"Lots of business people work so hard in their businesses that they never get around to working on them," he said. "We offer advice, training and guidance on making businesses more efficient and therefore valuable. We can identify opportunities for growth and offer ideas on how to make those opportunities work. We can also help with business planning and ways to action the plan. Customer service training, marketing and advertising and management and human resources issues are other areas in which we're happy to offer advice."
John sees great potential in the Golden Bay economy. "I've been surprised at how busy Commercial Street is," he said. "I think there's plenty of room for growth yet. Established businesses can be made to grow if their owners make the right decisions. Anyone who wants to talk about the types of assistance we offer can drop by and have a chat."
