The GB Weekly would look better with a re-designed masthead....
I support the installation of surveillance cameras in the Takaka CBD
I am generally satisfied with standards of service and presentation in Golden Bay businesses.
The Joan Whiting Home must be allowed to continue to operate until the integrated facilty is ready.
Bay businesses should specifically train their staff to provide good service.
Is it a good idea to continue to publish the tide chart in The GB Weekly?
Andrea says "Integration is a must. The IMG have a tough job to do because they are going to make decisions that will have great importance for our community for the next fifty years or so. I used to think that the Rototai Rd site was the best choice but now I'm coming around to the Park Ave one. Most people who will use the integrated health facility will drive to it anyway, so proximity to the pensioner flats, the high school, Abbeyfield etc may not be so important."

I agree that the Windle's views have not been fairly represented. I am excited about the possibility of a retirement village nearby these facilities. Well done Phillip & Rose."
December 4th, 2009 at 04:16 PMKelvin Riordan says "I found the IMG Open day useful to the extent that it answered at least some of the outstanding questions regarding the actual facilities provided. However I would have liked to have seen more information on the possible site options. Given the item in todays issue regarding the Park Avenue site it is clear to me that it is a very real possiblity and one that should be given more consideration."
December 4th, 2009 at 04:47 PMJohn Lee says "While I wholeheartedly support the concept for an Integrated Health Centre, I am seriously concerned that the planning grouo have given NO information about likely costs to the Community it expects to support the new centre , both for building and for ongoing service delivery. Indeed I have heard a rumour that the planning group has a view that the local community may be expected to raise more than $ 2 million. We are not being told the cost-benefits for each possible site. We have not been given any useful information about what types services will be available, and in what quality. I am concerned too that the Park Avenue proposal appears to have been disregarded by theb planningn group, which seems to be unable to provide any valid reasons for so doing. The planning group must front up to the local community with frank disclosure about set-up as well as running costs for this new much needed facility."
December 5th, 2009 at 08:27 AMNicholas says "I found the meetings very useful.I am delighted the group has found that the Hospital site not only gives best value for money but will be SO MUCH quicker in getting us a new integrated Health centre as both other sites need more time consuming planning apporvals to go through which involve several organizaions such as TDC, Transit NZ for two. The Parkview site probably needing the greatest time. Of the 3 sites distance is irrelevant as four fifths of GB's Population lives outside the Takaka township."
December 6th, 2009 at 08:02 PMTonie Watts says "We need this facility and I am pleased the hospital site is the favoured option. I think this could bring more of the doubters on board. Distance from town is irrelevant as most of GB population doesn't live in the township. Of those who do, the elderly and unwell would use their car anyway. However,I would like the full details of cost of providing this facility and the ongoing costs after that to be clearly explained. The Park Avenue scheme sounds like a wonderful subdivision, but many years away. Also, a retirement village is not the same as a rest home. "
