Word to the herd! Kill Kill @ The Mussel

Wellington-based Faster Pussycat Kill Kill, photo below, are a “dirty downtown rock band inspired by the sexy swinging sounds of the mid 60s” (www.myspace.com/fasterpussycatkillkillnz) with two out of its three members hailing from this very town.
Parapara native Chloe Langley (drums/vocals) has been writing and performing her music in New Zealand and Australia for over 10 years, but is more recently known locally for her inspiring skills in Little Vices, her other band, whose EP is currently being recorded, as well as her stunningly emotive solo work.
Reuben Collins (vocals/guitar) was also steeped in a musical upbringing in the Bay. His father owned the local rhythm and blues music store back in 1990 to 1992, and the pair have since recorded an EP together as members of band Fosset and Badger in Australia.
The third in the troublesome trio, Ross Walker (rhodes, organ, upright, electric and fretless basses) has history with Connan and the Mockasins; currently plays with Taboosister and Sexy/Heavy; likes all things bass-related and cites green as his favourite colour, though he does not like the colour of his green bass.
With keen ears, swift hands and a sharp sense of humour, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill have quickly made a name for themselves on the Wellington music scene since forming in 2008, delivering exciting and original shows with an occasional Sonics or Tom Waits cover thrown in for good measure.
Embarking on a national tour this summer following the November release of their highly anticipated mini-album Get a Little Closer (available now at The Quiet Revolution), Faster Pussycat Kill Kill will rev their engines at the Mussel Inn on 19 December with the Cowpokers. Dress up, prepare to get silly, bring $10 for the album and support the kids!
