Happy reunion

When Collingwood resident Maureen Scotland took a booking from the UK for the bed and breakfast she runs with husband, Angus she did not suspect it would lead to a surprise reunion.
When the “nice middle-aged couple” arrived in February, the women quickly got to chatting and the visitor, Sylvia, asked Maureen where in the UK she had came from.
In the course of conversation it became apparent that Maureen and Sylvia were in the same year at a tiny boarding school in Hildenborough in Kent. They had last seen each other more than 50 years ago.
“What a happy reunion, we had,” said Maureen. “Once we’d made the connection, I remembered her well. Luckily they’d booked to stay with us for four days so there was a lot of ‘do you remember so-and-so?’ We must have driven our husbands mad. Sylvia is now planning a school reunion in the UK and I hope to attend.”
