Police report 27 March 2009
11 March: No complaint was forthcoming after police were called to an alleged assault at some Takaka flats where one intoxicated occupant had entered another’s room and punched the other man in the head while he was sleeping.
13 March: A window at the front of the TDC office was smashed overnight.
10 March: The sign to a Collingwood bed and breakfast business was reported stolen overnight. The sign had the words “Heron’s Nest” on it.
14 March: A 16-year-old Takaka youth was processed for driving with excess breath alcohol following a single-vehicle accident at Pohara where the driver left the road and collided with a tree.
14 March: A 51-year-old German tramper received minor injuries when he slipped and fell while tramping to Boulder Lake. He was assisted from the area by a Golden Bay SAR member.
14 March: There is an ongoing problem with mail being interfered with in letterboxes situated at the Rangihaeata/ Fraser Road intersection. Opened mail not received by the intended recipients was located in a nearby reserve.
15 March: An 18-year-old Motueka youth was processed for driving with excess breath alcohol.
15 March: A report of someone shooting at cars with a paint-ball gun on the Takaka Hill is being followed up.
19 March: A 39-year-old Takaka man was arrested for making threatening phone calls and for intentional damage of an ATM machine. He has been kept in custody until 7 April for psychiatric assessment.
18 March: A 42-year-old Collingwood female was charged with careless use of a motor vehicle after she allegedly fell asleep and drove through a fence on Commercial Street.
19 March: A Pakawau resident reported that frozen meats had been going missing from their freezer in their garage.
19 March: A 54-year-old Collingwood man was arrested and charged with cultivation of cannabis.
20 March: No complaint was forthcoming after an alleged assault in Takaka following a tenancy-type dispute.
21 March: A 17-year-old Takaka youth was processed for driving with excess breath alcohol. The results of a blood test are pending.
21 March: A vehicle parked in Commercial Street overnight suffered damage to a side panel.
21 March: A 42-year-old Takaka woman was arrested for refusing to accompany a law enforcement officer, refusing an officer’s request for a blood sample, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer following a traffic incident.
21 March: A Takaka resident reported their number plate stolen from their car while parked in Lake Crescent overnight.
21 March: A 17-year-old Takaka youth is to be summoned to court for disorderly behaviour after a fight, which he allegedly incited, erupted at a Takaka licensed premise.
22 March: A 20-year-old Takaka man was processed for driving with excess breath alcohol.
22 March: A Rangihaeata resident reported their letterbox stolen overnight. The box was constructed of wood and was unpainted.
22 March: A visitor who left their bicycle in a Takaka bikestand overnight found it thrown over, the combo lock damaged and a red cycle helmet stolen.
