Need to be "innovative...if you want to thrive"

Parked outside Pipeworx in Buxton Lane you’d normally expect to see the odd plumbing van, but when a promotional breakfast barbeque was offered for “all tradesmen, farmers and quality tool addicts” there last Friday morning, the vans were lined up bumper- to-bumper as virtually every plumber and his mate turned up on their way to work.
Over their hearty fried breakfast, the tradesmen took the chance to see the new range of tools being demonstated. Pipeworx co-owner John Menary (above) put on the barbie in conjunction with Mico in Nelson, now part of the Crane Group, who built the mobile barbeque to take around the top of the South Island and generate business with some of their bigger customers. Said John: “The barbie here was more successful than I imagined, and also showed me how innovative you have to be these days if you want to thrive. It was great to see so many of my plumbers come and support the promotion. They didn’t just come for a sausage either; we sold quite a bit of gear.”
John says that the range of tools will stay at the special promtion price until the end of April.
John and Alison Menary of Onekaka bought Pipeworx in Buxton Lane from Dave Andrews’ Lifestyle Group almost two years ago and immediately set about upgrading and rejuvenating the Bay’s only dedicated plumbing supply business.
