Change of arts worker for council

The Golden Bay Community Arts Council has a new arts worker.
Pohara resident Lynne Udell took over from Emma Lay a couple of weeks ago and says she is enjoying getting to grips with her new job.
“Bay Lit is the next big event for the arts council and it’s just around the corner, so I’ve had to hit the ground running,” said Lynne.
“The arts council is really important in our community. It gives creative people the chance to collaborate and break down that sense of isolation. Golden Bay should be known as more than just an outdoor adventure place. We have plenty of creative people doing amazing things. I’m looking forward to helping the arts council to pull that all together.”
Lynne is a dance teacher and a practising artist. She won an award in last year’s BayArt.
Outgoing arts worker Emma Lay’s last official act was to hand over 13 re-usable picture frames she has made for the council to lend to artists for exhibition purposes.
