Bay’s netball competition in good heart
Millers vs Bickleys
Members of the Millers’ (yellow tops) and Bickleys’ (grey tops) A grade netball teams posed for a photo after their game last Saturday with Golden Bay Netball president Cherie Chamberlain.
Bickleys won the game by 27 goals to 19 but the result was in doubt until the third quarter when Bickleys’ steadier defence and turnovers started to count against Millers’.
Golden Bay netball is in good heart according to supporters and coaches spoken to last weekend. Playing numbers are holding up, especially in the junior grades where coaches report good standards of skill and sportsmanship.
Representative games over the Hill are coming up, so selectors are starting to watch individual players’ performances with great interest. One selector said that she was looking for “good team players” who were capable of playing in unfamiliar positions if required.
