Collingwood Store to deliver to Pakawau
The imminent closure of the Pakawau Store has led to the revival of a long-lost service – grocery delivery.
Tania Burton from the Collingwood General Store says that there has been quite a lot of interest in a delivery service to Pakawau and as far as Mangarakau, so the Collingwood store is going to make it happen.
“We’ve had about eight people from the Pakawau area and beyond come in and check out our shop,” said Tania. “Once they see the variety of things we stock they’re usually impressed.”
The delivery to Pakawau and beyond will happen on Thursday afternoons. Each order will attract a delivery charge of $3 and customers need to phone in their order by 11am on Thursday.
Tania explained that customers needing something on a day other than a Thursday could be helped too.
“We’ll arrange for the Collingwood Rural Mail drivers to deliver things to customers on the other days,” she said. “People just need to give us a ring on 524 8221.”
