Golden Kids celebrates “20 Years Young!”
Golden Kids Inc Early Learning Centre (formally Golden Bay Day Care Centre) celebrated 20 years of education and care of Golden Bay preschool children last Friday.
Approximately 50 past pupils, staff, board of trustee members and parents watched as Wendy Beatty (the longest-employed staff member of 19 years and member of the establishing committee), Aydee Green (a past pupil and current parent) and Aydee’s daughter Kalea cut the cake.
The centre opened with two staff and 14 children enrolled aged two to five years.
Throughout the years the centre has managed to overcome many challenges and today is a vibrant and successful centre.
Golden Kids provides education and care for 80 children aged 9 months to 5 years and employs 12 permanent staff, of the 10 teachers, all are fully qualified or in training.
