Police report
18 August: A 25-year-old Takaka man was charged with driving while disqualified. His car was impounded for 28 days.
19 August: A Central Takaka resident reported two petrol containers stolen from his garden shed.
20 August: A 39-year-old Takaka man was arrested for breaching his bail conditions and for possession of a knife without a lawful purpose. He appeared in court the following day.
21 August: A 19-year-old Italian tourist and his 18-year-old Wellington associate were arrested and charged with the theft of two bottles of Bourbon from a liuor store in Motueka the previous day. The Italian was further charged with the theft of a sleeping bag from a shop in Petone on 9 August this year.
21 August: A tractor battery was reported stolen from a facility in the Collingwood area.
23 August: A 16-year-old Takaka youth was apprehended using a stolen fuel card. He has been referred to Youth Aid for alternative action.
26 August: A 36-year-old ex-Takaka man was charged with breaching a protection order after he broke a window at the address of the protected person.
28 August: An 18-year-old Takaka man was charged with reckless driving, failing to stop for red and blue flashing lights and driving with excess breath alcohol. A court date has yet to be set.
