A highlight of this year’s Heart Art 2010 was A Way With The Faeries, a picnic, treasure hunt, music and story-telling event.
Heart Art co-organiser Clair Fones said, “The idea was to encourage lots of people to spend more time in the Milnthorpe forest and a few people told me they’d never been there before. You’d be walking along a track and you’d hear a few notes wafting out. Then you’d come across a musician or two sitting in a clearing. We had story-tellers and a wig-and-wand-making workshop too. People could dress up. It was really lovely.”
The other Heart Art events were a H.A.N.D.S. Market on the Village Green and Euphoria, an expressive dance event.
“This was about people having the time and space to let their hair down and dance out their emotions. The participants said it was successful and we’d like to repeat it next year to build on this success.”
Clair and her co-organiser Grant Knowles say that next year they would like to be able secure the funding to to return to a full Heart Art programme.
