Seven of the Golden Bay men who attended this week’s Men’s Health Night to mark the end of Movember. The moustaches were measured, checked for froth-catching ability, evaluated for style and originality and, in most cases, shaved off. The overall winning moustache was the one sported by Struan Clark in the middle of the picture.
Men who went to the health night heard interesting and challenging information from men’s health promoter, Phil Chapman, Golden Bay GP Struan Clark and Nelson counsellor Trevor Lawrence. Issues canvassed included the things that work against men seeking medical help and ways to overcome them and some simple steps that men can take to improve their chances of living healthier and longer.
Phil Chapman said, “It’s important for guys to just come out and have a listen. Never under-estimate the what some guys will pick up on and take from the night. One person might go off and do something about an issue that’s been troubling him.”
