The GB Weekly would look better with a re-designed masthead.
The GB Weekly would look better with a re-designed masthead....
I support the installation of surveillance cameras in the Takaka CBD
I am generally satisfied with standards of service and presentation in Golden Bay businesses.
The Joan Whiting Home must be allowed to continue to operate until the integrated facilty is ready.
Bay businesses should specifically train their staff to provide good service.
Is it a good idea to continue to publish the tide chart in The GB Weekly?
aged 50 says "I'd like to know where the money is coming from to pay the $545,000-700,000 per year for the lease of the integrated medical centre. I presume it's the PHO. At the moment how much is paid by PHO/NMDHB to lease or rent property in Golden Bay and does extra funding come from the nation-wide national health budget or will it come out of Golden Bay's health allocation? Once the mortgage is paid off will the PHO continue to pay that same lease and what will happen to the surplus funds? "

The most important factor for me lies with the quality of people who provide it and we are so lucky in Golden Bay. I nevertheless feel that the Integrated Health proposal will provide security of quality services into the future, even though this future is reliant upon Government adequately funding the Trust. The new facility will provide collegial support by putting everyone together into a single provider of health services; it will make special provision for the services of the Mobile Surgical Services bus and various other health service buses stopping at the facility; it will create viability for visiting health specialists to come to us instead of us having to travel over the hill. All of this will make services more user friendly, especially for the elderly and vulnerable. It will improve care for those needing 24 hour acute and potentially life saving, emergency service and equipment. I have faith that every Government will be committed to providing good quality rural and aged care services even though they will always be looking for economies. This proposal, I believe, does produce economies, even though it lays waste to an existing Medical Centre and Rest Home and needs $6.3 million to make it happen. In balance, as I see it, our services face more threat if we don't proceed with the Integrated Health proposal and I appreciate the efforts of key people who have driven the project to this point."
