Fresh FM in Takaka is marking Youth Week with a special broadcast of its Fresh Start breakfast programme. This year’s Youth Week will be celebrated nationwide from 22-30 May.
From 7 to 9am next Friday 28 May, Fresh Start will be hosted by George Machin with special guests Millie Eggers and Tui Kraal. George, Millie and Tui are Year 13 students at Golden Bay High School.
George already produces and hosts his very popular programme The Jam every Wednesday between 6pm and 7pm. It is a mix of music, news and views with a focus on young people and is sponsored by the Tasman District Council.
“The focus of Youth Week is to listen to our young people - that’s very important to Fresh FM, your local community access radio station, and we love to give them a voice,” said Fresh FM’s Takaka station manager Paddy Brennan. “George, Tui and Millie will kick-start your day with the low-down on the Nelson heat of Rockquest, new stuff, music, a What’s On guide and, best of all, give-aways, including free movie tickets from the The Village Theatre and $20 vouchers from Take Note Takaka and Mariposa/Soul.”
Fresh FM broadcasts across the Top of the South on 104.8FM in Nelson and Tasman, 95.0FM in Eastern Golden Bay, 89.2FM in Blenheim. It also streams to the rest of the planet on their website www.freshfm.net
