Becuse of the fresh interest in a sports facility at the Recreation Park, we should build something and fund it out of the facilities rate.

  1. Ratepayer says "I'm unsure because of the following questions: Is a sporting facility the right thing to build when we need so many other things as well? Can a sporting facility meet the needs of all the sports, let alone the other recreational groups like scouts etc? Is it a mistake to saddle future generations with $3-4million worth of debt? I'll be watching the progress of the discussion with interest."

  2. already struggling says "I imagine a loan would be required to build a sporting facility,funded through rates.In the present financial situation ,is increasing rates for the such as this good for our locals on fixed incomes?"
