With the onset of spring signalling growth and the outdoors calling, Katipo Landscaping is all set to help people realise their landscaping and planting dreams and needs.
“Don’t wait till the week before Christmas,” says owner Hobie Mercer. His 12 years of experience in the business mean he can offer a complete and flexible package.
“One of my strengths is that I create landscapes that age gracefully. Older gardens or new ones, I can help people enhance their surroundings,” he says. Sometimes it doesn’t take very much; the placing of a big rock or two, or the planting of shrubs and trees can have a fantastic, positive impact. In the wet climate of Golden Bay a little extra hard landscaping, such as paths and sheltered areas, will enhance the indoor/outdoor flow of a property, while plantings and barriers can create sheltered sunny nooks.
Hobie has qualifications and experience in both amenity landscaping (the choosing, planting and establishment of garden plants) and landscape construction (boulders, railway sleepers, paths, building patio and barbecue areas), and combines them to create gardens to mirror the wants and needs of home owners.
He also gained skills while working and studying initially as an apprentice at the Christchurch Botanical Gardens, then in private landscaping businesses, so he can offer both the development and maintenance of landscaped gardens.
“I’m keen to help home owners get the best from their garden area,” he says.
Hobie can be reached at 525 9974.
