Freedom Painting workshop

A two-day Freedom Painting workshop last weekend gave 12 aspiring and established local artists the chance to “paint without inhibition”.
Cath Rogers, who took the community education course at her Rangihaeata home, said the aim of the workshop was to free up any creative tension and expectations.
“The focus was on freedom painting using big, bold, expressionist techniques, letting go of any planned or preconceived ideas and compositions. The result was a fun-filled weekend of dynamic, creative expression.”
More freedom painting courses will be held in the future, including an ongoing night class, as well as art therapy classes run in conjunction with local art therapy facilitator Jo Campbell.
“These courses can be a useful tool for individuals, organisations and businesses where a new and fresh creative approach is required,” said Cath.
