It was a big day for Laser Electrical last Friday.
Lex Taylor and his team celebrated the opening of their new Junction Street (I don’t know which that is!!!) showroom, workshop and headquarters. Invited guests had the chance to see what a difference this initiative will make to the retail and service economy of the Bay.
“I guess I just wanted to have all the services and products available in a one-stop shop,” said Lex. “My clients are used to being able to get us to come out to them and do their electrical work. The new showroom has a good supply of light fittings on display, so people can come in and see how they look in a room before they decide to buy. We also have small appliance repairs, Freeview television installation, CCTV camera systems, alarms, and stand-alone solar-power systems. We’re the agents for Endurant batteries and we stock a good range of electrical fittings. Anything that isn’t in stock can usually be here within half a day. Being part of a nationwide franchise keeps our prices really sharp, too.”
Lex explained that the purpose-built facility, half of a new building constructed and owned by Steve Chamberlain of Golden Bay Builders.
“John Jones will be working on small appliance repairs on site. The ease of access and the amount of space in the workshop mean that dropping appliances off will be very simple,” said Lex. “The workshop is all plumbed and wired to allow us to repair and check stoves, washing machines, dishwashers and fridges. We’re now authorised Fisher and Paykel service agents too.”
Clients, tradespeople and friends at last Friday’s opening said they were impressed by what one described as Lex’s “vote of confidence in the local economy”.
