Sarah Pascoe is following her passion from home and earning a tidy income on the side while raising two active young sons with husband Troy, a computer programmer, and working part time as a nurse.
She has just extended her clothing business to launch Azzizzi Vintage Store, which aims to provide quality, fashionable vintage and nearly-new clothes at an affordable price.
Sarah says, “Women need clothes and pretty things. I have a collection of vintage linen and china available for purchase as well, or hire for special occasions. I like to promote the eco benefits of recycling quality clothes and homewares, especially since most vintage clothing was made in New Zealand, not China, as it is today. Choosing vintage saves money, keeps stuff out of landfills and reduces the need to buy imported goods.  Vintage items are often handmade, and they are unique and beautiful.”
Sarah began her business in 2002 with a small shop in Redcliffs, Christchurch. When she and Troy moved to the Bay in 2005, she continued the business online via TradeMe and at local markets. In 2007 she founded the annual Boutique Market. Now Sarah has given Azzizzi a Facebook page.
How does she do it all?  Sarah and Troy take turns staying at home with their sons and working part time at their respective vocations. Developing Azzizzi is Sarah’s creative side at work, giving her much satisfaction.
Azzizzi officially opened in November and will be open every Saturday from 10am–1pm through summer.
You can visit Azzizzi Vintage Store at 3 Packards Road in Motupipi, or virtually on Facebook.
