From the artist who brought washed up TVs into focus and abstract video distortion to last year’s Bay Art comes a new business set to make us all look good in the digital age.
Pheye Creative is the brainchild of local artist Jay Horton, a sound and graphics man with 15 years’ experience as a sound engineer and ten as a video artist.
His service combines HD video production, audio production, photography and graphic design in a single package.
“Since many businesses in Golden Bay are geographically remote from their clients, more people in the Bay may look to promote themselves and their businesses online. The public wants to access information quickly from websites; video is a proven and effective way of providing that information,” says Jay.
“I offer assistance with digital video and design. I’m available to provide professional, cost-effective production.”
Besides professional business projects, Jay can enhance weddings, birthdays, workshops, conferences, and other events with digital memory. “Digital photography and video is becoming part of a complete event package.”
Jay received his Bachelor of Design at Christchurch Polytechnic School of Art and Design, majoring in 3D design and printmaking. Last year he completed certification as a video editor at the Apple Pro Training Centre in Wellington.
Born in Canada, Jay arrived with his parents in Golden Bay 22 years ago. He’s married and has two small children. His business will operate from home, round the clock as necessary.
“I love being creative and helping others express their visions through my technical support. I’m an artist at heart with a love for unique communication design. I find the internet, social media and video fascinating and I‘m thrilled to be creating a business that includes my passions.”
