A word from the Editor

Well in to the second week at Alert Level 3, it’s clear that, while many of the Bay’s businesses have reopened, some huge challenges remain; plying contactless trade is easier said than done, and there is a limit to the number of takeaway coffees and snacks that customers will purchase.
It’s been very satisfying to report, through our pages, that life is coming back into the business community and we hope that renaissance will continue.
This time next week, we may have moved to Alert Level 2, and that means cafes, bars, restaurants and shops will be able to open their doors and welcome customers inside. Whenever it happens, we will do our best to report on the changes and keep the community informed about all things Covid.
Like many people around the Bay, GB Weekly staff and reporters are still working from home, but looking forward to getting out and about in the community again before too long.
Stay Safe.
